Sentinel satellite imagery

Agtrix has released on-line access to the imagery from the Sentinel satellites to our subscribers.  Sentinel produce imagery every 5 days, and growers can access this data directly from our web site.  These images are not high resolution, but are ideal to monitor what is going on in the field as the images are very recent if there hasn’t been much cloud around.

Currently we have provided access to 3 of Sentinel themes.

    • Sentinel True Colour - uses the Red-Green-Blue colour bands to approximate what it looks like if you were in a plane looking down.
    • Sentinel Agriculture - manipulates the colours to highlight areas that are used for agriculture.  You can use this to detect where areas have been harvested.
    • Sentinel NDVI - highlights areas where vegetation is growing vigorously.  You can use this to see if your crop is even or there are areas that might need attention or different nutrient applications.  Ideal to identify areas where you should subsample for leaf or soil analyses.

You can look back through time to display the most recent cloud free image from before that date.
